i'm that type of girl

was going to post this yesterday but my borrowed internet connection isn’t always reliable.

i am addicted to nadia oh. i’ve probably listened to her album 10 times in the past 24 hours. the best album i’ve heard in a long time and completely inspiring in the strangest way for what it is. totally fresh for being completely unoriginal.

i have a couple of weeks before i go back into the studio. i wanted to make sure i had a lot of time to add the finishing touches of what can be done at home (ie. all of the synth and guitar parts, some drum programming) before going in to re-amp and then record the final vocal takes … so that’s basically what i’ve been doing, spending time with my nord lead 2. i still ♥ that thing, it’s probably the only synth i like post-1986. it’s weird, referring to even the recent decades of the 1900’s is starting to feel like making a historical reference. i often wonder what the present decade will be known for when we look back on it… i personally don’t have very much positive to say, although there was much to like in fashion there were no predominant original trends in music. i feel like nobody gave a shit about this decade because it didn’t have a catchy name like the 80’s or the 90’s. i heard something about the “naughties”?? but that didn’t catch on. i’m moreso looking forward to claiming the next decade, which i have high hopes for. i’ve decided we are referring to it as the teens. now that it has a catchy nickname, it stands a chance.

pro tools 8 has pretty much made my life, it’s definitely moving along the recording process nicely. as i said, i’ve been recording synth parts … in the past 24 hours i’ve done the synth bass parts for the first 3 songs on the LP and they are sounding quite acid-influenced as i had previously envisioned. i’ve decided to completely makeover a song from late 2006, perhaps my most ubiquitous thus far, and give it this acid house vibe… it’s one of the songs still in the player. will probably be the first track on the album. i’ve spent a lot of effort steering the project away from electronics so it’s nice to have it finally come full circle. the sound of it all will just be crazy. each track has its unique vibe but the album tells a story as a cohesive whole… at this point i’m just ready to share it. the live act will be my first chance to do that, and it should be happening sooner rather than later. going over to jenna’s tomorrow to continue working on that. we have a tentative setlist and are quite eager to make the show the best it could ever be. can’t wait to see u out! ♥

My Video Perspective…

Hiya all! Long time no bloggy, eh?

Well… I ran across this cool tag from one of my new myfriends:

Peace Now the Hippy Girl (clicky clicky)– who said she “almost tagged me but…”

Sooo… I thought about this all day and well? I finally decided to do it too. Like you
really didn’t already piece that together, eh? Ha. *mental head slap*

So here’s the gig:

Answer these 5 questions with video responses:

1) What song would best describe your feelings about your spouse?

***This one was the easiest***

2) What is your world view at the moment?

3) What song best describes your life right now?

4) What are your feelings about President Obama?

5) How do you feel about the person who tagged you?

(Keep saying what you need to say girl!)

Now, who to tag? Hmmm????

Duck. Duck. Duck…

You’re ALL gooses!

And there are several of you (you know who you are!) that are at the TOP of my “You’ve been tagged” list. If you’re thinking, “could she be talking about me?” to yourself???

Chances are purdy damn good the answer is a YES!

So go all Nike n shit and JUST DO IT!!! *grins*

Oh yeah… then come back here and let me know you did it so I can check yours out!!!

What to do?

We wants all of you guys’s opinions. Mommy went to a show a week or so ago. In it - they had an antique piano on stage. Mommy said that she has always wanted a baby grand piano, but something old - real wood etc… She doesn’t like the new pianos’ they are sooooo boxey and glossy (which attracks dust and cat hair). She has always liked the old pianos with carved legs and stuff. So - she kept the program from the show, and it had the name of the store that donated the piano that was used for the show. Today Mommy and our Gramma went to the store. She wanted to check out the pianos they have there. Well, many were junk - some of them were the newer types that she doesn’t like. Then she found 2 old ones that she thought were nice. The first one - OMGoodness, did it sound awful, and need tons and tons of work. When she left the store - she said goodbye to that one, and called it a “Poor Poor Piano” and hoped that the technicians could fix it up. But there was one mommy actually liked. Here are some photos of it.

It’s sure pretty isn’t it?  What do you guys think? She should try and buy it? It’s not cheap but very reasonable for the condition and stuff. Hmmmmm - decisions decisions. We think it’ would be great to play on!

My Soulmate, My Lover, My Friend

My Soulmate,

My Lover,

My Friend.

I used to think that being in love meant passion, excitement and romance.

Now I understand that real love is all those things But it’s so much more.

It is Watching television together

Sharing Sunday morning newspapers

 Talking through problems together

Reading next to each other in bed

Cuddling when the nights get cold

And knowing we will always be together.

It’s those long walks and talks

And that first cup of coffee together

Its taking turns cooking

And washing the cars together

It’s the way you say you love me with just a simple look

Being with you has shown me all that love can be.

You have taught me that everything I am not, is what has made me who I am!

Im so glad I get to share our lives and love!

Your Wife, for Life!

Jaynie
